
Dr. Tiffany Abrego, PhD, LP is a licensed psychologist and the President and Owner of Thriving Families, a multidisciplinary practice dedicated to supporting individuals and families across the lifespan. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders—including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learning disabilities—as well as mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, anxiety, and personality disorders.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Abrego is deeply committed to education and training. She holds an appointment as Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Wayne State University, where she mentors and trains the next generation of psychologists. For over a decade, she has also served as a professor in both the Pediatrics and Psychiatry departments at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where she remains actively involved in developmental pediatrics education.
Dr. Abrego has a special interest in pediatric weight management and brings a compassionate, evidence-based approach to supporting children and families facing complex developmental and health-related challenges.
In addition, Dr. Abrego is committed to working in the Detroit community and served as the Executive Director of Behavioral Health at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan for 3 years, and developed a multidisciplinary behavioral health training program that provides embedded mental health services within each club.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Abrego enjoys cooking, strength training, and attending stand-up comedy shows.
